Music Business 101

I have developed this section to inform and educate. It is a sampling of articles that I have found on the net.
If you are a consumer I hope to clarify some of the questions that I (and I am sure many other Independent Artists) often get asked to explain my choice in being an Independent/DIY (Do it yourself) Artist. It is also my hope that some of this information will help broaden your understanding of Independent Artists and you will choose to search out music that you may actually enjoy more than what you hear on commercial radio.

If you are an Artist then my goal is to help you see what options you have and help you become aware of some of the pitfalls and deception that may cross your path. Whether you choose to go the Independent or the Major Label route you must be educated and know what you are doing! If you know what you may encounter then you can do your best to overcome it and not get blindsided by it. Many of the sites included have great information for both Independent Artists and Artists who are searching for a deal.
